Last year, I had the pleasure of visiting a breathtaking sunflower field. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we encountered a time crunch and lost valuable daylight by the time our team and model were ready for the shoot. As the golden hour approached, the race against time began. Determined to capture the essence of this incredible location, I made a promise to myself to return the following summer and plan a shoot that would do it justice.
When I approached Dami with the idea of revisiting the sunflower field, his enthusiasm matched my own. We met up and delved into the shoot. To create the perfect visuals, I combined the natural beauty of ambient light with the creative versatility of off-camera flash. This choice proved to be a game-changer, as it allowed me to achieve the even lighting I desired, particularly given the model's rich and captivating skin tone, which could be challenging under the harshness of the sun.
My wonderful husband Hasani lent a helping hand, offering invaluable assistance and capturing video footage and I wanted to create a mini fashion film. I edited the footage into a musical montage, which I’ve shared below.
